Data You Give Us Directly
Search queries
Text entered in a third-party search widget is transmitted to that provider so it can process the query. We do not maintain a local database of the names or case numbers entered there.
Messages and contact submissions
If you send an email, we retain the message and contact details needed to reply or meet a legal obligation. We do not disclose that correspondence outside our organization except where required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics services may receive routine technical information about a visit.
- IP address and approximate network information
- Browser, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps
- General performance and error information
Cookies and analytics
Cookies and similar tools help measure traffic and maintain site function. Browser settings can limit cookies, though some functions may respond differently when they are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information is used to operate the resource, diagnose errors, understand aggregate use, respond to messages, and direct a search request to its selected partner. We do not sell personal data.
No Court-Record Data on File
Calhoun County Court Docket does not host, compile, or sell court files, docket databases, or reports about people. It describes official record paths. Michigan court access is governed principally by MCR 8.119, while Michigan FOIA begins at MCL 15.231; Calhoun's county FOIA process does not provide court case files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search partners process their own query data under their own privacy notices and practices. We do not control their retention, security, price, matching, or disclosure decisions. Review the provider's policy before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Official court, clerk, county, and state links leave this resource. Their sites have their own terms and privacy practices. Advertising or outside service providers may also collect information under their separate policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Information can be processed by service providers that support hosting, analytics, email, advertising, or a query you intentionally submit. It may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for the information we control. Internet transmission and storage cannot be made risk-free, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is believed to have been provided, contact us so it can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
You may ask about personal information held in correspondence with us, request correction of inaccurate information, or ask for deletion where permitted. Court-record access questions belong with the Michigan court clerk that maintains the case under MCR 8.119, not with this private resource.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as operations or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with its effective date.
